90% vs 35% Silver

Before going into thinking about trading my 90% silver for 35% I have a few questions. If I were to trade my 90% silver for 35% silver would 90% be worth more? If the trade was equal in silver weight would it be a fair trade? I've been thinking 35% might be worth a bit less in a trade like this because it might be harder to refine. Am I correct? Thanks.

Save and stack ALL of your 90%! Use some of your paper money to buy any 35% you want at way under spot. I usually trade the other way, 35% for 90%.

Yes, If I was going to trade like that, I would value the 90% at spot and the 35% at about 80-85% spot. So that would be like 15 or 16 war nickels to every $1 FV of 90%

I traded 35% and 90% for FRN's at my local coin shop. (I hold Ag as my emergency fund) I got spot for the 90%, but less for the 35%. I will roll hunt for war nicks, but not a buyer of them for this reason.

I have 35% because I like the historical aspect of war nickels, and yes I have seen them for way under spot before (guy was roll searching and just dumping the rest), but I would not stack 35%. Purity is important to the melters, and that does have an impact on demand. This is why I love Canadian silver. 9999!

Go from 35% to 90% or higher. If you get some while sorting that's cool, but if you want to sell close to spot, you need a higher silver percentage.

People will for the most part always want to stack the higher % silver coin, and thus the discount for the the war nick.

In the end, you will get more bang for your buck with the 90%.
