so the other day i was watching an auction on the Bay of e. its mislabeled, poorly written, and misplaced. The seller was offering a 1882 20 piece. So, i see it as what it should be, a $20 gold piece worth about 1500. It was selling for 12.50 when i started watching. Hell of a deal, right? I had almost placed my bid...but stopped myself. I sent him a message asking him the weight of the coin. It should be around 34 grams. I waited, and watched. The bid closed around 1200. I was saddened...until i opened my received messages...the coin, it seems, weighed only 24 grams...so some poor bidder payed 1200 bucks for something that may well have only BEEN worth 12.50...Just reinforces my belief that you should question everything, and it may just save you.

I've realized the Bay is full of sharks and pirates. The deals are out there, but alot of people either ignorantly or purposefully mislist. Enough people are spending alot of time searching or have good aps and find the mislisted auctions that their bids run up to close to value. It appears only the auctions that are listed will go for melt or melt+ as they gain that extra little bit of attention. Kudos to the seller disclosing the weight and you relying on your spidey senses of not bidding.
