I have been skunked the last 3 weeks on halves and the month or so before that has only given me 1-2 40% halves per box. I was thinking that if I didn't get some silver this week, I was done.

First box Skunk.

Second box has 3 silvers showing on the ends ofthe rolls. I pulled out 58 40% halves. Whew!!! Now I can justify to my wife why I continue sorting them. . She was starting to question it.

58 in a box?! Holy cow....the other day i grabbed a box but i was on a skunk run with boxs lately...but grabbed 4 outta the box...then got another box and scored another 4....40% that is...also met up with a guy and bought 10 40%rs for $2 each...20 for the day and i was happy

The slots have to pay off once in awhile, just to keep you coming back Nice score

Yes, and the most important part is getting your wife off your back for a while - glad I don't have to worry about that anymore (happy to be a two time loser here at marriage:) Congrats on the score!

Good to know there are still some out there. I never got the reward, never found anything, so quickly gave up.

My wife is always upset with me for getting more coins to sort also. I'm not sure why. It seems like she thinks I'm spending money or something. What is silver just gets returned and we get our money back. She is thinking "you just spent $250'on a box of dimes- I think I'll go get my hair cut.

Hope that wasn't my order I didn't get there in time to get. CONGRATULATIONS I have stopped for a while. Thought our area was dried up.

I gave up on halves when my shoulder gave up, but miss them. Girl I know spends $100 on a cut and highlight, I go out back and do it with the Wahl for the cost of the electricity. I've had problems with girls and numismatics, funny thing though, how much the shiny they inherit outliving men.

Thanks for the replys. Picked up a bag today, and only got 3-40%. Last bag I got from this bank had 200 silvers in it. I was hoping to get 10% of that.

Oh well. I'll take the 3 silvers.

Bags are funny like that. Sometimes they are fantastic and other times you get a sorters dump. My last one was a skunk so 3 is still not bad. Halves of any sort have been much harder to find over the last few months in my experience. I can order all the boxes that I want, but the boxes that I get are all awful. It's just a chore to do them. But pennies, nickels and dimes I enjoy doing boxes.

58?! That's unreal... so far I'm averaging 1 90% per 3 boxes... I've considered giving up with this kind of percentage, but when I hear about these crazy finds I keep thinking if i stop now, somebody else might get my "Amazing Score" box. So, I keep pushing on. Thanks for feeding my inabilty to stop.... ugh.

$4K in halves really isn't that much, I search that on a slow day... A large factor at this point is geography, some areas are just better than others as far as finds go.
