I just bought these, and was told they are ALL silver, but, some of them look really good, like possibly GOLD.....but they are miniature US coins, and appear to be GOLD, COPPER, and SILVER. The person told me they came from the franklin mint, they have NO purity markings, and I cannot find out anything on them as if they came from the Franklin mint or if that person was confused or whatever.....?

they look really good. the gold ones are pretty much an exact replica of original US gold coins, the copper ones are exact replicas of US cents, and the silver ones are exact replicas of US coins as well as US commemoratives, and ALL of these are PROOFS............any help would be great appreciated. I paid $25.00 for the whole set. I dont think I went to wrong, especially if they turn out to be gold. My next step is to acid test them and see how that goes....

well, I just tested the GOLD ones and they are definitely SILVER, at least sterling.....so I can assume the silver ones are at least STERLING as well. Who knows about the copper colored ones, but there is only 8 copper ones. There is 12 gold colored ones, and about 50 of the silver ones......the total weight is 18.80 DWT, so just under 1 ozt. looks like I got a fair deal. I like them......I will probably add them to my packages here and there for fun.... I still wouldn't mind knowing where they originated....they are well made....

P.S. I have the most surest way ever to test SILVER, if anyone wants to know. You take a pocketknife and cut off a few little chunks of whatever you are going to test.......put them on your testing stone, then put a drop of 18K gold testing acid on it. The reaction you want to see is a crystalization of BLUEISH TURQUOISE color, with a look of ball point pen ink sheen, kind of a melted look, that means it is silver, and at least .900 silver......it takes practice, but if you are someone that has acid on hand and uses acid regularly, you should try it, and study the results........My friend who owns several refineries taught me this trick........it works good in the field, you dont have to carry that red silver acid, and it is never wrong...

I think there are multiple companys that make these If you search around on ebay you will see many different ones some better quality than others.They are cool little coins would be good as a teaching aid.
