Does anyone have a promo code for free shipping? Otherwise it's $2.99 by
Canada Post lettermail.

I'm still waiting for the end of the penny to arrive, probably lost in the mail and out $60. Looking into getting a P.O. box.

How long ago did you order? I pre-ordered mine when I ordered the Queen's Jubilee
$20 coins because I was offered free shipping if I pre-ordered. However the credit
card I used expired in the meanwhile so I got a letter and had to phone them with a
new credit card, did that today. They said to expect it in about 4 weeks (I'm in a
major Canadian city) so since you are in the states it may take longer than that for
you. Bonus of calling in I got annother pre-order opportunity, I'll now also get free
shipping on the Christmas coins.

I was hoping somebody would have a promo code becasue I have a friend that didn't
get in on the last ones that was interested in this batch but they would like to get
free shipping too. ;)

Edit:
Found a site with the needed coupon code:

My order has been in since May (as a pre-order). It shows as "processing" on the site. I'll call in a few weeks if I don't see any movement.

Kudos to Canada for trying this and experimenting with new ideas, coinage, etc. I really do like the coin design. Would I actually buy one, though? Probably not.

I know it was discussed the last time, but how much silver is actually in this coin?

Slightly over 1/4 ounce, for simplicity sake just say 1/4 ounce. ;)

7.96 grams if you want to be fussy.

Not the best way to "buy silver" per say but since they are legal tender an OK way to
park money you are willing to save in Canadian Dollars.

I have heard they are NOT legal tender, maybe some Canadian banks won't take em.
