Unclad rim?

Sorting through dimes today, I found a 1994-D that appears to have a rim that did not get clad in cupronickel. It looks like reeded copper sandwiched between smooth edged cupronickel. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Is it a mint error? The face of the dime does look like it might have some pitting from some sort of corrosive, though, but no copper is showing anywhere except the rim.
Thanks!

all clad dimes have the copper showing on the edge. if they didn't it would be a lot harder to edge check them for silver.

That's not what this is. Having checked several thousand dollars in dimes, it's quite obvious that this is something else, and I think the photos show it very clearly. I also though I explained it clearly enough.

the rims look like they might have been smashed or rolled over the edge.

Does the coin seem like it could be pryed apart? I have found several half dollars with rims that look like that and they turned out to be magician's coins although I didn't think there were any dime-size ones.

I have also checked tens of thousands of dimes - over 60,000 in the last couple months - and haven't seen one like this. It could be a dryer coin like someone mentioned.

Do you find a lot of 1967 that you have to check the dates on. We have found that the 1967 one do not stand out.
