Hi all,
so I like treating my pm's and base metals like if they were baseball cards. I recently traded a little over 6 ounces of silvers in the form of 40% Half Dollars and a damaged ASE. In return I got 27 grams of 99.9 pure silver with certificates http://shop.americancertifiedbullion.com/1-Gram-999-Fine-SILVER-Bullion-Bar-Certificate-000056.htm and 1 gram of 99.9% pure platinumhttp://shop.americancertifiedbullion.com/1-GRAM-999-Pure-Platinum-Bullion-Bar-CERTIFICATE-00205.htm I know I got less silver but I'm happy with the trade. Would you guys consider this a good deal? I traded with American Certified Bullion directly. My silver is going to probably be turned into their own silver.

Do yourself a favor and ask before you pull the trigger on another trade.

As doc would say, tuition paid!

Check that.

I didn't notice the platinum. You might have done OK!

Was it 6 oz ASW or Total weight?

So you say 6oz of silver. Does that mean 34 40% halves and 1ozt ASE? If so, that is about $180 market value here on RC. The value of what you have now is 1g platinum worth about $55-60, and 27g silver. A current ad for 1g bars in the BIN section doesn't seem to have sold at an asking price of $2.5/ea. But assuming you could get that, your silver would be worth $67.50. So your total current value is around $125-130 :( .

If you ever want to trade up for 999 silver, you should pm scrapman1077. He's taking pretty much any and every form of silver for trade at 80% spot in exchange for brand new 1ozt. rounds. You could have gotten almost 5 rounds for the silver you had.

It was a little over 6 ounces of silver. The total weight would have been more.

LOL. Thanks guys. I'll definitively ask here first. I thought the platinum was the deal maker for me. You are right it was 34 40% halves and the 1 ozt damaged ASE. They gave me $200 store credit so I thought that was good (a little over spot.) However, I now see that I could have done better by taking the $200 cash and then buying stuff here. Next time I'll ask you guys first! Thanks a lot. Oh well, I got my first gram of platinum.

More platinum than I own! (Less than SWMBO, though.)
