I hope this is in the right section... I'll be in Las Vegas from Friday to Tuesday. Anyone have any recommendations on places to stop by regarding silver and gold? LCS's or Pawnshops? If anybody wants anything from Las Vegas let me know.

For fun you might want to go by the Golden Nugget and drool over the display of the gold nugget i.e. the Hand of Faith

Likewise, for the novelty of it you might also check out the "Gold to Go" vending machine they have on the floor where you can buy bullion gold bars and coins. The premiums they charge are outrageous but the little bars have a Golden Nugget hologram on the back or at least they use to, which makes for a neat keepsake.

As far as silver there are no "Silver Strike" machines anymore that give out real silver. All the ones now i.e. at the El Cortz, Four Queens, Mirage, and Sam's Town are all clad crap tokens and not worth messing with. Also note that there are some counterfeit Silver Strike tokens from China floating around so beware.

Sahara Coin (7293 W Sahara Ave #106) is probably worth a stop into. You won't find any deals, but there's plenty of numismatic eye-candy to be had.

You could always hit up Gold and Silver Pawn shop, the pawn shop where they film Pawn Stars.

713 South Las Vegas Boulevard Las Vegas, NV 89101
(702) 385-7912

To me it would be worth going just to say you have been, doubt you get any deals tho

I'm looking forward to my Vegas getting away coming up in 2 weeks and am planning out an afternoon to head out and see the Pawn Stars...hoping to see one of two of the guys from the show out an about. 8-)

Never liked that guy. His eBay "spam auctions" overpriced stuff was annoying, and his "expertise" in Heavy Hitters Magazine concerning collectibles is questionable.

Be prepared to wait in line. One of my relatives went recently, and they didn't even bother cause the line snaked past the parking lot. See for yourself. On the possible bright side, you might get roped into being filmed as a background customer on a segment. I doubt you'd be able to see even one of the main cast just by going in; reportedly they stay in the back unless there is a filming shoot that requires them. You might be lucky in getting to see the second tier staff.

Rats bummer darn, a Pawn Stars tour is losing its "luster" after hearing your review and seeing a few others. Oh well, more time at the tables I suppose.
