C-Store score

Over the years I've been lucky enough to get several deals at C-Stores and this evening I ran into another. At least I think it was a deal, I really haven't looked into what the coins are worth yet since I'm more of a basic bullion stacker than a numi type.

I stopped for some petro and at the counter some guy was trying to sell 3 coins in flips to the cashier. The cashier said he wasn't interested so I asked if I could take a look. He had a 1850 Large Cent, a 1865 3 Cent Piece and a 1887 Dime. I'm no grader, but I would say all are very good to fine condition wise. I really had no idea what they were worth, but I liked them. In the end I gave the guy $25 for the three.

I'm not even going to try to check out the value right now - if I find out I paid too much it would ruin my enjoyment of them tonight sitting here on my desk, So if you know I paid too much don't tell me. Now if any are worth a mint feel free to speak up.

You don't run into situations like that every day, and it's fun to acquire some interesting coins, especially ones that old. Don't worry about the cost. I would have done the same thing!

According to numismaster.com the coins in G-4 condition are worth $40.50

Obviously, if they are in better condition, their value goes way up...

Either way... you are ahead of the game!!! NICE!!!

( I tried lining the prices up with the grades, but it didn't work out that way.. )

Sort of related...
I've got the local convenience store guy selling silver, dimes and 40% halves mostly, to me for 15x. 40% @ twice the price of dimes. It pays to make friends with people who handle cash/coins. When there is cash/coins involved, it always pays to be aware.
Nice score, OP.
Never seen a large cent or 3 cent piece though...
