Seriously though. Basically he claims he went to a thrift store, and bought a one pound bar of silver for £3. A very good score (if it's real)

The one thing I LOVE about realcent is that the strings of threads are so easy to read!

Although I find that there is probably a LOT of good information on the other sites, such as the one referenced above, it is too confusing for me to decipher..

Yeah, I agree. I hate when "forum" sites are set up like that. I just don't see the point...

A few years ago I got a nice sterling serving bowl that is over 10 ounces for a couple dollars, so I do not doubt that this occurred. People who work in thrift stores can be totally ignorant of precious metals. They could have easily thought the bar was a base metal. Which it totally could be with all the Chinese fakes out there.
