North Korea 2012--very unique first person vid

I thought I would post this, its a first person video, shot on a ride up the east coast, and up north to the Yalu.

this is the kind of footage, we would have paid money for, back in day....why?....you can get a LOT of info, just by watching this. its all in the details.

hints?...look at the trees as you ride past block after block of old soviet style apt blocks....obvious lack of motorized traffic, the traffic itself...some vehicles run on wood products, general lack of trees ar all, except for some steep hillsides....still got a nourishment problem with children, the size of them.....very little evidence of a motorized military,, etc etc etc

I like how there is zero effort to slow down for pedestrians. Just blow your horn "Get the hell out of my way".

There are two types of pedestrians in North Korea, the quick and the dead.

The place is way too clean.

Missed this one to long ago. Was looking for the reference to NK not being able to "light a fart from a paper bag".

Watched it again given the news. Combined with written first-person accounts, it's quite striking. What you see is the best of everything, and anything remotely positive is fake or specifically staged. The tours and tour routes are carefully managed. That this is the best of what they can show (except for their military) is stunning. The selected western style hotels exist solely for these "tours" to present an image of prosperity, but there is no one else in the hotels. To a substantial degree the decorative building lights are turned on and the off again to save power as the known/tracked tour groups approach and leave. There is a thin (dangerous none the less) veneer of science and technology to protect and serve an elite few and which is skimming off the top of what is otherwise essentially a 16th century society.
