I went in the bank today to deposit a check and get some cash back from it. I asked the teller for some halves.

She didn't have any, but one of the others had "a lot of them", so she said. I said I'd take them all, the whole $7.00 worth.

Two were 40%s! Its been a while since I scored at face.

Today's score value: $1.00 = $13.19.

Nice score

But you seem to have doubled that value... if you got 2 40%s (ie $1 face value) its $1 = $6.58. Still... good find!

Good catch, I should have double checked my math.

A better measure of this is to forget FRNs.

Yesterday $1.00 got me .295 TrOzAg at the bank.

Has the recent silver price action made 40% halves more/less attractive for stackers? The premiums seem to have gone up w/ the rest of silver, maybe validating 40% more as a store of value?

I'm curious as well but I really don't think some realize they are silver. I don't have many and the ones I have I've received like the op did. Once I asked and the teller had $13.00 of which $6.00 were 40percent and loose in the change tray
