It may be the last time ever, but silver is green again :) (I saved this when I was checking this post as I knew that Henry had the "ticker" image in his footer.

Even if silver plummets and my family and I have to live in a van down by the river I'll always have this saved image :)

What does green indicate? That it went up, but since when? I've never understood that...

Yes
green = up
red = down

The "market" is 24/7. I think the "day" starts are something like 5pm EST. Not certain. Traders of actual futures/commodities would know. I have no idea as 100% of my "trading/investing" is via the stock market which is 9:30am EST to 4pm EST. Those guys have it easy :)

Ok, but what's the time frame for it to be up since? Up since yesterday?

Since 5pm EST. Or whatever the "start time of the day" is.

Actually someone less tired can do the math:

Go to http://kitco.com

on the left hand side search for the word "closing". They should how soon it is. Do the math on that and there you have the start/end time :)

Ok... so it doesn't have to be higher than the previous day. Hardly impressive that it's up from where it was a few hours ago... actually, even if it were since the previous day... I don't think it really matters...

Does the cat bounce higher the further it falls or is there a limit on how high it can bounce regardless how far it fell?

Yes it does have to be higher than the previous day. It has to be up since the "close of the previous day". That is ALWAYS how "up/down" works :)

Based on what I've seen:

Silver doesn't move between 5:15PM EST and 6:00PM EST.

At 5:15PM EST red or green arrows are done for that "day." Red and green arrows reset to zero at 6:00:01PM EST and then start to show new ups or downs.

That coincides with what I thought based on anecdotal observation.
