I think it's clever marketing, outside the box thinking, sharp entrepreneurialism (I'm surprised TXBullion didn't think of this first  )

He's not deceiving anyone as to claiming they have any value, just saying they make nice gifts... and I bet kids would love them.

I wonder how much the gold plating process costs?

I agree with Ray, these look really cool actually!

I probably would have bought it had the auction not been closed just for giggles. Although I don't feel motivated enough to run a search :)

Cool enough, sure. And hours of fun later on for coin dealers who are presented with rare gold cents from the public :D

My local guy still gets a half dozen phone calls a week to find out what "the real gold" Statehood quarters are worth

Those are too tacky even for 'Pawn Stars' to feature on their show for a walk-in "howmuch is this worth?" seller.

now that would be funny. Have Chumley get conned into buying some (or just pretend he did) and then take them to the Old Man to see what his reaction would be :o  (not that I ever watch that show  )

Hi all-

Ugh, i love it when people selling this kind of crap say stuff like, "TRIPLE PLATED in 24K gold!" or, "HEAVILY LAYERED in Pure 999 silver!"

They are neat looking, I will say.

However, I'd rather buy a 1/10 oz AGE and call it a day!

You can't beat the real thing!
