Well if anyone remembers my posts from yesterday where I scored almost 900 wheat cents I mentioned the bank called me yesterday to let me know that they had filled the bag of quarters on the counter they have. I went this morning and picked up the bag.

I could see silver in the top of the bag. When I started reaching in to grab coins I could hear some of them as well. After sorting through the $1000 bag I got $28 worth of silver Washington quarters. A lot of them were 64's I made a nice roll of the shiny ones. Also some dated back into the 30's and some are rather worn. Glad to have them either way. I will upload a video later and link it here.

A rare situation to be sure. Silver quarters are the least likely to be found, they were all mostly pulled by the vending machine, laundromat, car wash business types long ago. I've not seen a silver quarter in circulation for many years.

Very nice. Congrats. If some are from the 30's be on the lookout for the 32D and 32S. They are the keys with each having a little over 400,000 minted. Worth a lot more numismatically than as bullion. Good luck.

I've never searched rolls or bags for them. The only silver quarter of recent that I've ever got back in change was about 4-5 years ago at my office cafeteria. I would have never noticed except it made a different ring when I plopped it down on the dining table. A coworker went back to the cashier and had them check for more, but there were no more in the drawer.

I don't usually check quarters other than what I get from the newspaper boxes when I deliver the paper to them. I usually only find a few a year. One of the tellers told me someone cashed in the silver and called me when the bag got full. Luckily my wife's aunt is the branch manager and they treat us very well there. Its a smaller bank with maybe 5-6 branches. They take in change loose usually and run it through the counter. They roll coins for the customers they have themselves to save money I guess. I always carry the bags to the vault for the teller's and I have seen the counter and coin rolling machine they have. This makes the third or fourth time they have helped me score pretty good. I think I will get them lunch soon or at least take them some treats by.

For a $400+ score, they deserve at least a pizza or two.

Yea I think I will do something like that very soon. Nice bunch of ladies at this bank and they always help me out. A while back they told me about a bunch of uncirculated cent rolls from 1980 or so that came in as well. I believe I made a thread about it. Most went to another member here and I still saved a couple back for myself as well.

Its funny 40 of the 64 quarters filled a plastic quarter tube but it took 45 of the worn ones to fill another one.

a guy i work with who knows i hunt for silver just told me today that he had 3 silver quarters for me that he pulled out of the coin tray of his mothers car. not as exciting as $28 FV, but knowing how hard it is to find quarters in the wild, im happy just the same. same guy gave me a '64 dime from pocket change two weeks ago. maybe this is a sign to give quarter searching at least one attempt.

Awesome. Proves quarters don't always suck. I think I might start searching bags of quarters soon to assemble a collection of clad Washingtons and state/national park quarters. Hopefully I can find some too

A dream come true for us stackers. The last time I found a silver quarter in change was back in 2007 in Albany, Oregon. I stuck a dollar bill in a .50 cent coke machine and out came a silver quarter in the change slot!
