E bay 1/4 ounce gold coin. . . fake?

E bay 1/4 ounce gold coin. . . fake?

The brown marks at the top and bottom, makes me think its gold-plated. Also, no where in the listing does the seller state that it is 1/4 ounce of .999 pure gold.

the entire series has the same spotting. These are coming from a coin shop with 71000 positive fb, 100%... they may look bad, but I doubt they're fakes.
