Today I picked up a $500 half bank wrapped box at one of my local banks.

I found 2 1976 S 40% silver proofs and 1 2004 S proof half in the same box

I thought they were pretty cool finds to find in the same box considering the low mintages

So far since I started sorting halves, I have found 5 1976 S 40% silver halves

great finds......I always wonder who is cashing in silver proofs for 50 cents

Very cool finds. Did you check the rim or oh I guess you could just look at the mintmark and find a S on the on eh?

I got another 1976 S last night in a different box.

Terrific finds! I have never found a 1976 S proof, even though I find thousands of the regular 1976's. Wow! Keep it up!

Maybe someone turned in a roll of proof 1976 S 40% silver halves to the bank and when they were processed they got distributed to many different boxes??? I won't complain though
