Canadian silver on ebay: Is this a good deal?

Postby PolishPunisher » Wed Jan 05, 2011 5:34 pm

Hey guys, looking for an opinion on a Canadian silver auction.

Here is the link....http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWAX:IT

I know a Canadian .500 silver is worth about 2.50 on coinflation, I was wondering if anyone does much with Canadian silver. Thanks.

A lot of us like Canadian Silver a lot.

at almost 7.5 oz of silver it would be a huge steal at the $152 it is currently.
these auctions have a way of going nuts during the last minute most of the time.
but not always,
i bought a morgan, a peace dollar + two 40% ikes for $35
with no other bids on them, sometimes you do actually get a deal on ebay.

You can definately pick up good deals on ebay, you just have to look for them. Auctions that end in the middle of the night, on weekdays, etc. I've bought slabbed coins for way under bid mainly because no one was awake to see the auction, and like justoneguy said, people love to bid at the last minute and drive the price way up, so often they don't get a chance to.

Anything under $200 (shipping included) is a nice deal. I tend to view the 50% Canadian coins as similar to 40% halves. They are silver, but you should avoid paying spot for them.

That auction was on my watch list and I was hoping to bid on it but was not home at the time. At the price it sold for I think it was excellent value.
