I have been approached with the opportunity to buy a 1892 and a 1903 sovereign. I was wondering what a reasonable price for these was. I plan on keeping these but would like to pay a price that is fair but also leaves some "meat on the bone" for me.

Thanks for your help and advice

A good price would be 2% above melt. A great price would be at melt. Market generally prices them 4-5% above melt. Depends on their condition. If XF or better, consider buying them to hold... if in lesser condition than that... who would you sell to?

Okay, thank you. The deal for these Sovereigns and the buffs fell through. I think the potential seller is too in love with the Sovereigns.
Maybe he will come around in the future.
