I've run across a couple of coins that have a sticker ad on the face. This one was for Bill's coins in AZ.

Have any of you run across these?

I guess it could be a pretty good idea. Have any of you use that kind of ad to buy coins/silver?

No one has tried this?

I have ran across this before on quarters but not halves. They were ads for some sort of gift shop at a sea side resort place if I remember correctly.

Portland Mint should try this....but he and HCBTT would get them all.

Just saw this bumped up and should share my experience.

I tried it for www.LondonGoldBuyer.com.

I placed 2000 stickers over a 1 month period one loonies (Canadian $1 coins). Custom designed a sticker to fit nicely and slowly let them out into circulation to ensure wide distribution.

Results? I was not able to discern any change in web traffic, but did receive 3 phone calls.

2 people thought they won something and the 3rd cussed me out for messing with her money.

Absolutely the worst money I ever spent on advertising.

I've never found a half with a sticker but I've found 2 cents with stickers good for a free kids meal at CiCi's pizza. I don't have any kids.

I have found them for a couple of places, one for a burger joint where I could get a mini sundae for that half (it was still open so I used it and a couple more I found, unfortunately it has gone out of business) and a yellow one for a business in California (I live in Texas). I have found about 6 or 7 of the ones for the Calif business over the course of several years. Have not seen any in the past year or so though.
