I was asked to buy some sterling bars which are 500 grains each. that is a little over a troy ounce, albeit at .925. If i did my math correctly, each has .96 ounces of silver.

what would be a fair price for these considering they are only sterling?

Try to get at least a ten percent discount, fifteen would be better. The smelters won't pay above that for sterling. If you want to flip them you'll need another ten percent for profit... so maybe offer $21.31 each?
