So I just got $1000 in halfs and the problem now it I can't get rid of them my normal dump bank (TD) won't take half dollars because it "breaks" their coin counter the bank that I got them from won't take them back so I need help should I just use a coinstar just to get rid of them or try another bank or something else any help is welcome.

Go to a different branch or re-roll them and drop them back on the branch that denied you. Option b is what I would do this time and again and again. Do not pay coin star fees.

I'd go bank-to-bank (without going out of my way) and swap them out. Mine for yours, and spend the rest on necessary items. Especially spend them around the area of the bank that won't take them back. Good chance their commercial accounts with be depositing them back to same said bank.

Where in NJ do you live? I frequent TD banks and have never had any problem dumping my halves at any of the branches where I live.

In fact, some of the tellers I chat with often buy boxes of halves and dump them before their shifts.

There HAS to be another TD Bank nearby!
