Kicked out of B of A

Back in October a branch manager told me if I kept coming in with so many bags of coins (four of pennies, one of halves) that I would have to open a business account. I asked how about if I limited my returns to just once a month? She said, well as long as you don't save up a whole months worth and bring them in all at once. So I went there once in December, no problem. Returned today... their New Year's Resolution must be to scowl and whisper to each other in front of customers. I was confronted and told "you were told!" They accepted my return today "for the last time," and said I HAVE to have a business account in the future, or don't come back. Nice people there. Thankfully, I have three other regular dump branches of B of A, so I'm not dependent upon the witches (sp?) at that branch. :x

What would it take to open the business account?

On the subject of Banks. I was defacto kicked out of Chase Bank cause they changed my free checking account to one that would cost 10 bucks a month unless I put large amounts of money into it or through it every month. I closed my account as I only use that fascist institution as a dump bank, and only opened the account in the first place cause they gave me 100 dollars free to do it.

I got the same letter from BBVA stating come Feb that they would require $1500 in my account to keep the free checking. I only use them for extra pick up when my regular bank hands out new pennies. Hmmm, what to do?

Hate to hear that man. Start paying debt with your dumps if you can. That will eat a fair amount of coin.

I didn't get kicked out of Chase, but I did close my account there when I got that letter last month. The only reason I opened the account was because WAMU was offering a matching $100 for your initial deposit. Chase took over WAMU afterwards. All these banks are looking for new ways to nickle and dime us... while we try to penny and halves them

Just a little counter thoughts here Beau,

Check to see what is required by BoA for the business account. You might just find it actually doesn't cost you much or anything at all if you can have enough of the requirements met each month...

I got the business from my vault teller this week: "The central vault manager wants to know what you are doing with all these halves?" I told her the truth: "I pay my debts with them!" and I further elaborated it was in the Constitution of the USA.

Article One, Section 10, paragraph 1 states the following: "No state shall enter into any treaty, alliance, or confederation; grant letters of marque and reprisal; coin money; emit bills of credit; make anything but gold and silver coin a tender in payment of debts; pass any bill of attainder, ex post facto law, or law impairing the obligation of contracts, or grant any title of nobility.

She ordered the halves. We will see how far that goes. If they refuse to give me halves... I will make them my dump bank!! Bawhahahahahaha!!!

Oh, yes I do have a comercial account with them!

Haven't had much chance to look into it, but it seems like if you keep a balance of $1500 or so they don't charge you. Now then, if I had the extra $1500... eventually they'll make it tough enough that I will just find a new hobby

as a result of Congress and Dodd Frank, banks are losing big chunks of money from overdraft fees, ATM fees, and fees paid by merchants on debit cards. So just to stay even, they are changing account fees. Very few banks will offer free checking a year from now, and it will only be for their best customers. Just more unintended consequences.

Yea, I think I'll just keep the account loaded to $1501 so they have no room to screw me. I was keeping it in a savings account somewhere else so I'll just store it there. I call it a price of the hobby for now until I need to do something else. Keep sorting, keep hoarding!

Banks have everything backwards. Think of it this way.

You give me $1000 dollars.
You can have $1000 dollars at anytime, by just coming to my house (during business hours that is) and picking it up.
1,000,000 other people have given me $1000 each.
I invest that money, and make $500,000,000 in profit.
I charge YOU a fee to keep YOUR money!
It goes alot deeper than this, but you get the jist of it.

Please for the love of God tell me how that makes any sense?

The banks should be on their hands and knee's begging us not to close our accounts, but oh wait I forgot! They know that they will recover it by other banks pissing people off so they switch to their bank. It's one big cluster... Of genius!

Too bad us common folk aren't smart enough to keep our money out of the banks, and put it into precious metals...
Oh wait we are! Sometimes I forget how smart we are!

Well that's my 2 a.m. rant hope you liked it.
