Thanks Country looks like I found a reason to buy some palladium I have been holding off but now is the time to get in. (better late than never!)

I like palladium and platinum as investments and not just for the auto catalyst reason. Russia produces 2/3 the world palladium supply. I bet platinum goes over 2000 and palladium 1000 most likely this year. I don't own enough of either though. Once I free up some cash I am going to try to get a little more if the price has not gone too crazy.

Are there any fractional platinum coins available? I can't afford an ounce of gold at any one time let alone ounces of platinum. Something comparable to a half-sovereign would be ideal...

Canadian Maple leaf have 1 ozt, 1/2, 1/4, 1/10, 1/15, 1/20 in .9995 platinum

but i think they didn't make those since 2000, only the 1 ozt coin have been made in 2009 and 2010

DS, I don't know if you'd consider bars, but 5 gram Pt bars are close-ish to half-sovereigns in price and you could buy them from reputable mfgs. like PAMP and Credit Suisse.

I just know you'd pay more (per oz.) for, say, a 1/10 oz. Platinum Eagle.
