Hello All, I recently bought a box of Halves and found a few good ones.

A 1965 in good condition'
A 1967
A 1972 that someone gold plated I guess
and then A 1971 Kennedy that hopefully comes out good in the picture I'm providing. This 1971 looks completely different from other Kennedy's as it looks sort of Burnished. If you have any idea what could have caused this or there were certain Kennedy's that were made like this please let me know as I'm clueless.

I really like the 65's! There were only 65.8M produced vs. 295M & 247M for the '67 & '68's respectively. The Gold plated Kennedy's are fun and I've found quite a few of them. From what I've been able to find online they were collector gimmicks sold at big markups by companies similar to Heritage Mint or the like, but the actual amount of gold electroplate was minimal. I toss the really scratched up ones back and have kept a few nice ones as novelties. From what I've read online, it's almost impossible to remove the gold and you'll achieve so little it's not really worth fooling with. I'm not sure what's up with the '71 because it's not an "S" mint mark. Does it appear silver or just clad from the side?
