I walked up to the teller to make a deposit and these were sitting on the counter. I scooped them up and handed them to the teller, and she said a lady was just in with some rolled quarters wanting cash for them quarters and they had to un-roll the quarters and count them, and those were in there. The teller said they are copies and not worth anything. She said she told the lady to take them with her when she left. She obviously didnt, and left them there. I asked her if I could have them she laughed and said sure take them. I noticed when I walked up to them they were silver...either pure .999 or sterling or .900, they look good though, and are proofs. They say copy on each in the head area of washington. I couldnt find any info on these online, and they are very similar in appearance to the statehood quarters issued but not exactly the same design, somewhat different than the ones that were issued.

Is it possible these are artist/designer/engraver renditions/prototypes that were made prior to these being issued?

Does anyone have any idea? Or are they just SILVER copies?

I got them for free so pretty pumped anyhow just for getting free silver if nothing else.

I don't think they are silver. I find these quite regularly and they are just copy coins.

oh maybe not silver then. they have the ding sound of silver, and tarnish as well, but maybe they arent. I guess If i am 100% sure they are not specimens or prototypes I could cut one in half with a die grinder and know more as to whether they are silver or not.

Use large tin Snips an have more Silver to melt if they are Silver

Loan them to a member here with one of them fancy Ag tester gizmos.

i think i am going to drill a hole in the top of one, so in case they are silver it can be made into a pendant for a necklace. probably going to drill the delaware one.

not silver. maybe CuNi with silver plate?

I couldnt find my drill or my dremel, and my tin snips on hand were too weak to do the job, so I used a bench grinder, and ground into it, it looked pretty good at that point. Then I used a file and filed off some powder from the inside onto a black glass testing stone, and put some 18K acid on it, and it started boiling is smoking, so knew right then it wasnt silver. Then for grins I put a dab on the coin itself, and let it eat away the plating.......
