Silver Score!

Today I had a meeting downtown at the local chamber. After the meeting I had a check I needed to cash and went to a bank I rarely visit. On a fluke I ask if they had any half dollars. They did and in fact the teller even said she thought they were silver. She has $49.50 worth and of that $49.00 was 40% silver! The last time that happen was at least ten plus years ago.... Ah, success at last....

That is great.

I had one, not as good, but sizmilar yesterday. Asking for halfs the bank told me, "no, but we do have some dollar coins." Got 120 Ikes. No silver, but fun. The teller was apologetic that the rolls were $20 and not $25. She was glad to get rid of them.

almost 15 toz of silver!......THAT is a good day.....isn't it kinda funny, but sad, how people don't really KNOW how valuable commodity money REALLY is?.....its gonna be a steep learning curve one day for a lot of our fellow Americans, isn't it?

Got a little silver score myself today. Tellers tray had a war nickel peeking up at me! Only a buck or so worth of silver, but it brightened up my afternoon!!

I've been on a nice run with halves for a while now but things are changing a little and I'm getting more war nickels out of boxes than ever. I might be drying up my honey hole here but the war nickels are hot right now( as well as dimes).

My LCS and others don't care for, and frankly don't understand why people buy 35% or even 40% as there "isn't enough silver in the coins". Whatever I say.

For myself, it's still silver.

Sure there are going to be costs when extracting the silver out but that's not my job. I'm a stacker/collector that enjoys the hunt.
