Gold is down about 1.4 % and silver is up slightly. I haven't seen this in a while. Thoughts?

Duly noted but unsure of cause. They are both still bouncing off the apparent bottom -in terms of USD - so it may just be noise. Gold would be down because of herd mentality over the possibility that they are kicking the Greek exit can down the road. Silver could be up (very slightly) for same reason in anticipation of greater industrial use. Dunno. All I got.

Don't forget the saying- one day does not a trend make. The problem with this is that the same thing could happen five days in a row and it still wouldn't really be that significant. In other words, silver is a long ways from a significant breakout. Even if you did see a big move on silver (or gold for that matter), I'd want to make sure the breakout was accompanied by high volume. During the traditional summer doldrums, that is even more difficult to achieve. For gold and silver you can check volumes for GLD and SLV on the stock markets. It would be nice if volumes were at least 50% more than average.
