What is the going rate for 40% half dollars? I know what the coinflation site says however is there any kind of a premium?

There is usually little premium on them, although that will change if they become harder to source. Listings that post
them for sale at melt (or slightly under) will generally sell rapidly.

A quick look at the sold listings on flea bay show even the 40% are getting a solid premium now. I guess the supply is really drying up. I am still surprised at the "Spot" price vs. the true price on the market. Another glance on the Apmex site shows very little silver available for purchase. Where has it all gone?

Same place my PM has gone. Back of the closet.

These outfits have to balance loss from tying up cash with loss from spot price drop. Fun, fun, fun. (aka "Exederin headache number 999."

Yes, notice APMEX's ebay store. Whenever spot drops their popular items all go "out of stock" pretty quickly.

As we say in South Texas, puro pedo. IMHO anyway.

None for sale right now I only have about 500 or so. If I sold now I would take a loss I will try to wait it out.

Guess I should consider myself lucky to have purchased a decent quantity last weekend for $4.06 per $1 face of US 40% halves.

What was great about this was the quantity contained 5 full rolls of 1965s and another 5 of 1966s. All were AU-BU.

Hardly any of the others were heavily circulated, but that's because most everyone was pulling them out the minute they found them.

Most of the collectors I know right now are selling gold and stacking silver.
