Yes, with this drop in price, the governor of your state/province has granted you a pardon from your capital punishment sentence. With your new found freedom, will you:
A. Buy more
B. Hoard more
C. Sell nothing
D. All of the above

Something funny is going on...Get ready to buy if it pukes.

I don't know how they do it but that's not normal movement.

Bob.

All it takes is collusion in offering loads of short sales with no corresponding buyers in a thinly-traded Asian hours bourse  But... the longer they keep it down, the further the spring will uncoil once the monkey business is put to rest, and the increasing scarcity will only accelerate with price suppression.

yeah but when is this actually going to happen? people talk about the dollar crashing and people paying for groceries with mercury dimes, but a lot of this is just conspiracy theory.. will JPM manipulation ever end?? it's blatantly obvious to even non-statisticians like myself, how can regulators not figure it out?

Roman citizens didn't see the barbarians at the gate either while they were watching gladiators kill each other on the big screen at the coliseum.

options expiration wed. so lots of funny business and volatility to be expected.

the price of physical is set by the comex, but there has been a slow and steady drain of metal there such that a delivery default in March is now very possible, hence the substantial backwardation (premium for the near term rather than the long term). Normally you are paid a premium for delaying delivery due to the time value of money. its only when the risk of default exceeds the time value of money that you get backwardation in monetary commodities.
