Silver confiscation order from 1934
Here is the link to the actual order from the secretary of the Treasury.

They only went after those holding 50,000 ounces of Silver or more and/or more than "two" futures contracts.

This is a far cry from the order given by the President.

Yes, I have. And they will probably come out with a medication for penny and nickel hoarding soon. Of course hoarding 1,000 used pizza boxes in your living room is rather odd to say the least. And that is coming from a guy with almost two tons of nickels.

Yes, under a national emergency, the Federal gov. can take anything it wants. They can take your ___fill_in_the_blank____ anything if it fits their needs.

Be careful, Radiant! That is 50,000 Troy ounces. There are 14 Troy ounces (ozt) in a Troy pound.

50,000 ozt/ 14 ozt = 3,571.42 Troy pounds.

This little difference is how cheaters on feeBay hoodwink people into buying less silver than is advertised. They will show a photo of silver scrap on a scale, using normal pounds,and then sell it at spot in ozt price units.

I am not excessively paranoid (by my own assessment), but I think buying and selling physical silver or gold at some point in the future, should be done in the quantities that don't require recording, and don't bring attention. For me, this means that the lower denomination coins, 50cents and below, are the sweet spot (for me). Who will ever know what I have in my basement?
