Lots of fake Mexican coins floating around on EBAY these days. These should each weigh 30 grams and are 40 mm. Check a few when you get your coins.

He blew it by not using the word 'silver'. No one know swhat a 5 peso chaumotec coin is unless you're familiar with them.

Those are great coins and they go for a premium.

But yes, there are a lot of those faked. Just compare with an authentic one the difference is obvious.

So if I want to make a "safe" buy on ebay how much should I offer in this example:
Fifty 1964 and older Roosevelt dimes, just typical circulated coins, with Kitco saying the price is $36/oz. Shipping $5.

There was a guy all weekend selling 10 early 1950s Five Peso Hidalgos for significantly under spot (Buy it Now). I was surprised they didn't sell, at least up until I quit checking on them.
