Do We Have Time to Educate the Public on PMs?

The likely way we'll be thrust into a situation where PMs are quickly elevated to immediate safe-haven status will be some type of cataclysmic hit-and-run action. This will take everyone by surprise.

Those of us who understand and/or hold PMs will be instantly thrust into a role as educator. (That assumes we have the milk-of-human-kindness and want to share our knowledge with those whom we care about.) Will we really have the time or the inclination to educate friends and neighbors on how PMs will be able to help everyone maintain their present lifestyle? Doubtful. Might even be too late by that time. We'll certainly be struggling ourselves to align our new survival thoughts to the current crisis.

I certainly do care about friends and neighbors as well as relatives who currently think I'm orbiting the planet Jupiter. Even though I believe I'm very well prepared for an unplanned crisis, will I really have time or patience to talk friends and neighbors "off the ledge?" Doubtful. Unfortunately, I have little tolerance for bumpkin-like beliefs that Superman will be able to save us all.

I retain the firm belief that within the next 5 years all of our knowledge and talents will be called into action just to ensure survival. Hopefully not, but I must prepare. Hope you do, too.

You have to wait for that teachable moment. Or, it makes no sense trying to teach them if they are not ready to learn. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. Sometimes you have to hit it over the head with a baseball bat to get it's attention.

When they are ready they will seek the master. It will unfortunately and most likely take that cataclysmic hit-and-run action (baseball bat) that takes them by surprise to get their attention. I don't waste my time trying to preach/teach the awareness that is shunned by the masses especially those set in their ways. I work on the young, who's minds are still flexible. I wait for a teachable moment, never tell them their belief systems are wrong (I just show the obvious and let them figure it out) and look to see if the light bulb goes on. An attempt at planting the seed on fertile soil at it's best, blah blah blah words if they are/will not listening. Some (many?) just don't have the capacity to see it.

Teach the children well. Awareness is everything.

The public isn't worth saving, or educating. They're hopeless.

Sheep will remain sheep and do exactly what the government compels them. If they haven't figured out by now the game is rigged why should a crisis suddenly force them to think for themselves? If anything they'll become more dependent.

I've tried teaching my daughter about coins, precious metals and even the stock market. She is too busy with her college life to care right now.

Regarding stocks I try to tell her that I can simply work my own hours, don't have to leave the house or even get dressed up, and have a decent chance of making a few hundred dollars in a day (well- more so before I retired- now my wife is scared when we don't have huge amounts of money in cash, but that is a different story). My daughter seems to think trading stocks is pretty cool, but she has a fear of losing money just like her mom. Also, she feels like I will be around forever, so she can always come ask me when she is broke 10-20 years from now. Oh well...

I don't look at it so much as trying to educate the public, as making sure the people in my sphere of influence understand the underlying reasons for stacking. That's all I can effect, and if they don't want to listen I'm not going to waste much time on it. When it comes time for the public to need some support, that's where we come in and use a discerning eye with charity instead of the square peg of socialism.
