1099s as a prelude to a cashless society

Today my wife had an interesting thought: might the new Obamacare mandate with respect to 1099s be a prelude to a cashless society? The scenario is as follows, the proliferation of 1099s required for certain transactions over $600.00 causes a black market to burgeon. In turn the IRS does its best to stop this bleeding of potential tax revenue, but to no avail. Finally, the solution is clear: go to a cashless society.

Too many politicians and 'opinion leaders' think that they can force a society to use as money whatever they choose for us. When such efforts violate the conscience or prudence of a large proportion of the people it will result in an economic train-wreck. A whole lot of people will push back, and many will do so indirect, unobvious ways.

commoncents, you almost sound like Thomas Payne! I think the day you speak of is not very far away. Yes, indeed, not far off at all. Some day next November just ought to about do it! ;)

I hope your right, but the slow, methodical movement over the past century has been the other way. Technology now exists that make it possible to simply let the scanners at Walmart first scan our cards, then later microchips in our wrists (when the cards start to get stolen). When this will happen, who knows? But clearly we are heading in this direction. However, hope is eternal; keep hope alive!

Its all coming very soon. Hopefully if you believe the right things, you won't be here when it happens. If you don't believe it you need to start reading the most sold and printed book in the history of mankind.

I think the idea of the Rapture that will wisk away Christians to evade the time of crisis is really not going to happen. Christians should look forward to the time of crisis as we show our Christianity to our fellow man: Matthew 25:31-46 (New Revised Standard) gives us guidance:

31 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, 33 and he will put the sheep at his right hand and the goats at the left. 34 Then the king will say to those at his right hand, "Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; 35 for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.' 37 Then the righteous will answer him, "Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? 38 And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? 39 And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?' 40 And the king will answer them, "Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.' 41 Then he will say to those at his left hand, "You that are accursed, depart from me into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels; 42 for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not give me clothing, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.' 44 Then they also will answer, "Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not take care of you?' 45 Then he will answer them, "Truly I tell you, just as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.' 46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

I or my wife will never take that mark of the beast. The implanted microchip "IS" the mark of the beast. Let us all hope this never happens.

“If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath.” Revelation 14:9,10

“He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” Revelation 13:16-17

This is the first step - IMF blueprint for a global currency: http://www.imf.org/external/np/pp/eng/2010/041310.pdf Notice the chart....

Followed by:

The MM chip measures 0.25 sq mm – about the size of a decimal point – and can be embedded in paper. It is useful for a variety of purposes, such as a replacement for barcode tags in retail goods, for differentiating between genuine and counterfeit currency notes, and for use in passports. http://www.dailywireless.com/news/first ... ency-rfid/

In unrelated news...yea right!
On February 5, 2010, USDA announced a new, flexible framework for animal disease traceability in the United States. http://www.aphis.usda.gov/traceability/

Well, I wonder what animals they have in mind actually. :?
