Why are 1 ounce silver Libertads going for 2x what other 1 ounce rounds are bringing? APMEX has them for over $80 and I saw a few more places where asking price was nearly the same. Just wondering.

I figured out how to buy them in the bank in https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coppel stores in Mexico. I don’t recall paying twice spot, but there was a bit of premium on them. Love the look of the Mexican coins and buy them when I come across them.

Part of the reason may be scarcity. Mintage is down the last few years. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libertad_(coin)
