One out of three ain't bad

Postby twentybux » Thu Sep 23, 2010 10:36 pm

Was in downtown St. Louis last week and thought I would check out a few banks. My first bank I stopped by stated that they had no halves. The teller then looked at the teller next to her and said, "Oh, she has three. Would you like them?" I said sure thinking that this would be a sure fire skunk. One of the three was a 40%. And so...one out of three ain't bad. Went to a few other banks. Bought around $200 more halves and got skunked. Oh well. Stuck around for the evening game and watched the Cardinals eat the Padres' lunch. With the Redbirds out of the race at least they won't trade anyone during the off season like the do after an awesome year. Meanwhile back at the ranch...just fun going to the "big town" and trying to find goodies.

You're telling me, the Cards are KILLING me. At least Bradford looks good.

Cardinals were a damn shame this year. What happened to the run support for Westbrook? Wainwright completely fell on his face at the end. Here's hoping for a five win season for the Sheep.

Nice score- the silver not the game (Cubs fan here ;) )

My sister works in a bank and I was bugging her to get me a bunch of halves when I was visiting her. She brought me a total of 5 halves- 1 '64, 2 40% and 2 duds. Still, I couldn't believe I scored a 90% and 2 40% out of a teller's drawer. My sister looked at me like I was an idiot until I told her what they were worth (after I gave her the $2.50 for them)

Nice score! Sorry about you being a Cubs fan. If there was some type of charity I could give to in order for you to defeat such a disease, I would. Ha! You know growing up I used to watch alot of Cubs games when the Cards had an off day. Still didn't like Sandberg and the rest of them but it beat watching other crap on TV to pass the time. Blake Dewitt is from my neck of the woods. Awesome that he made it to the big leagues so quick. Alot of us thought about buying Cards jerseys with Blake's number and name. Would seem odd to some but he and his family would completely understand. Ha! Adios.

Got the same today. 1 40% out of three. Feels good to get some silver.

I know when I was typing the first post for this thread I noticed how I quickly got off the subject. Oh well, who better to hijack a thread than the one that started it.
