Saw them last night on eBay, and they drove me nuts until I finally bought them!

They appear to be 2 Type 1's and a Type 2. The dates appear to be missing, but I think I can probably figure at least one of them out.

You guys are probably the only ones who can appreciate this buy (and that's even from a numismatic perspective, not intrinsic).

Three cent piece.

In my (very limited) experience, the silver ones are generally called "Trimes" (or sometimes "Fishscales"), and the Nickel ones either "Three Cent Piece," or "Three Cent Nickel."

The silver ones are insanely tiny, and cool, if you've never seen one in person. Basically what you'd expect from something that's a fraction of its other tiny cousin, the half-dime.

They were primarily created to match the postage rate in the mid/late 1800s.

Correct! I've had one in my collection since I was a boy, and always thought it was wild, as it's about the size of a pencil eraser in diameter (mayybe a hair wider).

This opp popped up for a good price, so I do what I do best: impulsively leaped
