the targets in this article are shooting low, imho, in fact, i wouldnt trade good Ag for paper "money"....you read that rant from me before, so i'll not be tiresome, God bless all you fine brothers
ps......tgt, 20k Au 700-1k Ag....time frame?....time flies at the end of world. who knows?

Yep, the cagy central bankers are buying while it is "cheap". (What the heck is Philippines doing? Or do they just have so much of that Marcos and Japanese war gold that they can afford to sell some.)

I'm not sure when the mania starts, but we're not there yet. I think it might be when delivery of physical becomes problematic and the GLD fund crashes.

I did not see the USA on that chart.

What does it take for silver to FINALLY make a decent move? It was $50/oz. in 1980. If you adjust that for the inflation we’ve had since, it should be much, much higher even right now. Oh yeah, many would say silver is so much more essential for us.

I rarely read PM articles, but maybe someone who does can answer this - Have they ever predicted a gold or silver crash, or at least had an extremely bearish outlook?

I honestly can't take seriously entities that are 100% bullish on PMs 100% of the time, especially since they have bullion dealer banner ads.

I think there is an agreement among countries to rebalance, so you have some countries buying and some countries selling.

Tell me, from who are the countries like Phillipines buying?

What's more concerning is not that countries are buying but why might there be an agreement among countries as to the amounts.

We apparently don't sell, we "lease" our gold. So on the books it looks like we have it, and maybe we actually hold it, but we don't own it. Or so many people think. Buy more as a country? No, if they want more they will just confiscate like they did in 1933.

I don't believe the government is in any position to try the confiscation trick again.

First, because it's no longer a circulating currency which they could claim to regulate. Second, they've been pumping out eagles as a way for Americans to own/invest in gold for nearly 40 years. Which President is going to want that PR debacle, not to mention the zillion legal challenges?

Thirdly, the price of yellow would soar just on the rumor, and folks generally aren't the government-trusting sheep they were in 1933. Especially those who I would venture to guess are the majority metal stackers.

Tax it to death? Sure. But if you're paying taxes on metal gains you're not buying it correctly, selling it correctly, or both.

Israel to consider limiting ownership of precious metals

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has asked officials to begin discussing measures to limit the circulation of black market currency to curb illegal activity in Israel.

According to Ynetnews.com, a meeting will be held with Finance Minister Bazalel Smothrich, Bank of Israel Governor Prof. Amir Yaron, Prime Minister’s Office Director-General Yossi Shelley and top officials from the Tax Authority and Task Force for Combating Crime in the Arab Community.

Part of the proposal suggests limiting private ownership of large amounts of cash alternatives such as gold, silver, and coins.

Silver actually made a decent move earlier today - up $1.40 in the last 24 hours as per coinflation. But I am curious - what is a decent move in your opinion? Don't say 50 bucks an ounce because that would be a GREAT MOVE as opposed to "decent"

A decent move to me would be for Ag to rise enough for the Au/Ag ratio to drop below 60, while Au is flat or rising. At $3000 gold that would happen to put silver at $50, but I didn't select that number and back it out.

I didn't dump it in the traditional sense. I traded Ag for Au.

I may not be the sharpest pencil in the box but now I have less weight/space to contend with.

Yesterday I traded some Au for a semi-auto shotgun and 2000rds of ammo.

As long as you are trading tangible value for tangible value, no problem.

I didnt sell any silver recently but when I add to the stack now I get gold for this reason. Just covering all the bases. I think silver has a much greater future potential but I can carry thousands in gold in my pocket.

Someday silver bugs will be redeemed and their long period of suffering will be over.

However, at some point the time will come to sell. 95% of the general public is still clueless, but when the public starts FOMO'ing and piling in, that will be a sell signal.
