What is your coin shop paying?

Postby slickeast » Tue Apr 05, 2011 4:01 pm

I picked up some 40% from a bank teller for 10x face. I can't believe I payed that for 40%. Doesn't seem that long ago 90% was that cheap.

I called the closest coin shop and asked what they are paying for 40%.

7.5x face for 40%.... Wow, melt is 11.8x

So my question is, what is your coin shop paying?

If you are wondering why I didn't offer less. She orders halves for me loose. I have found a large number of silver in these bags. Gotta grease the wheel.

I just got back from my usual metal emporium, you should've seen that place. It looked like MacDonalds at lunchtime. He's gonna need a deli counter ticket dispenser when silver hits $50.

He paid 27.00 ea. for six mixed morgan/peace and sold me three of them at 33.00 sixty seconds later.

ps...I stopped at the gun shop before going to the coin joint and there was more talk about pm's than firearms.

US 90% being bought at $25.32 in quantity greater than $100 face. For a smaller amount it's $24.00 per $1 face.

they're paying 26.08 -27.27 depending on quantity, and selling for 29.17-28.18 depending on quantity for 90%

for eagles, selling at 42.92 and buying at 40.72

small spread; they do a lot of volume.

Apmex is paying $5.52 each at the moment. You do have to sell at least 1k worth.
If you are waiting for the "correction" to buy you need to realize that the increasing prices ARE the correction.

My shop is paying $4.75 for 40% halves as of yesterday. The other shop (which I won't frequent unless desperate) won't even touch 40%. $26-$27 for Peace and Morgans.

That's a good price.

I have over 300toz of the nasty 40%ers that I found and have given it thought.

I am pretty sure I can sell them for spot locally and will probably just keep them. Not much of a seller.

Many are AU/BU and I should sort by date and pull them before selling if I ever do.
I would have to remember which wall I put them in.....

Silver is for hoarding!
