I'm sure this has been asked a dozen times, but the "search" basically just finds "scale" and there are 1,000 entries that mention scale without a brand to look at.

Question: What is the best scale?

Components of "what best means":

- To weigh coins :)
- Accuracy down to at least .1 grams, preferably more if that's possible.
- Accurate measurements
- Durability and Long lasting

Thanks in advance.

Not sure what the best is, I went with cheap.

I picked up this one from dealextreme about a year ago-http://www.dealextreme.com/p/pocket-precision-digital-scale-black-300g-max-0-01g-resolution-17486

It's a 300g max with .01 resolution for <$15 shipped.

The first one the sent me was DOA, and I thought I was SOL. But they quickly sent a new one, and did not require sending back the defective unit.

I also picked up 3x100g weights to calibrate, and I really haven't needed to use them except to confirm that everything is working.

That, a magnet and some digital calipers I picked up from harbor freight make up my coin verification kit. I think the Chinese make the fake coins so that you have to buy their testing equipment.

A couple weeks ago I bought an AWS AC-100 that does 100g x 0.01g. Its about the size of a cellphone. I paid $24.95 plus $10.13 shipping.

It seems to work just fine.
