when spot was 20, I ran into a bunch of colorized. I paid nothing for them, but wanted to experiment on how to remove the paint... after scraping, boiling, and generally screwing one of them up, my girlfriend brings me over some nail polish remover pads... amazing- they work like a charm (a charm that works).

Yes, acetone (active ingredient in many nail polish removers) will work. Even better is goof-off, which is a xylene / toluene cocktail.

Why would someone colorize an ASE?

Great tip BTW, acetone.

Welcome kid,

I don't think you can screw an ASE up much worse than people who colorized them.

Hey kid... welcome! THE BEST thing I've learned from this site is how to find silver in circulation! Read up on it! IT WORKS! I started doing this around Dec and I've currently found over $30 face in silver in circulation! The trick for me has not been quantity... rather its about quality (quality customer wrapped rolls that is!) KNOW THY BANKS! SEEK AND YE SHALL FIND! You can learn amass of other valuable stuff here. People who have collected for MANY YEARS (including in my family) are AMAZED at my knowledge of coins nowadays. And I only started back in November... back when I joined this site! I've amassed a decent amount in a short time for GREAT DEALS due to what I've learned here. Visit this site no less than once a week and you WILL LEARN VALUABLE INFO.

The weird thing is, back when this was much more common, they apparently sold well that way. You have to assume whoever did it, made money doing it. because there sure is a lot of them.

Great tip with the acetone, Ive got a few painted ones I would love to clean up.

hello kidman
