Pretty interesting day, I love going to flea markets & yard sales in search of coins. Some days I do quite well , but today was one of the most interesting days out there as far as finds.
I see a small wooden display case with arrowheads sitting all around it (This is a big tipoff that someone has coins). So I peruse what he has and notice a few coins, I ask him how much his 1951-D quarter is.......$3 - Sold
Then look at 9 Las Vegas $10 silver casino tokens (.6 oz each) - Whole lot for $160 Sold.
Then the kicker..............27 1/10th ounce Gold eagles...........just sitting in his unlocked display case all in a pile. I couldn't believe that someone had that much money just sitting in a small display case at a yard sale. Unfortunately he only wanted to sell the entire lot @ $5k which was a bit too high. It did interest me though that someone in my small town would have something like that in a yard sale.

that is a kicker....wow. 5 is too high, what would you have bid?.....4?
that is an unusual item for a yard sale.......neat story, nice score.

Yeah, if i could have got the lot for $4k I would have taken em
Seems they go for $200+ on ebay right now, so I could have sold most and kept a few.

Last Kitco spot price was $4490 for 2.7 ounces. $5K might be a little high, but not unreasonably so, IMO.

That wasn't a high asking price. Just try to purchase one ANYWHERE for less. Good luck. Nice score on your finds
