I have not logged into my scottstrade account in many YEARS...
but, looking at what happened today, and what will likely happen tomorrow... what would be the best way to go about short selling and making some money (to buy real money with). :D

Or is this not really a good idea...

Buy an ETF that shorts a commodity or stock index. Now is not the time to experiment at doing this yourself.

Not sure, but you can short the S&P with SDS. Be careful. If this fall continues the government could issue reguations against shorting the market, making these ETFs worthless.

i dont have a balance on my account that can do much of anything at the moment... by the time my deposit is ready for use it will probably be too late anyway.

Instead of selling short which has infinite downside, just buy a few puts. That way you limit your risk and your profit potential is close to the same, and could be higher technically since puts are "leveraged".

I would never recommend selling short due to the infinite risk.
