I was watching that auction as well. Those seated dime made it worth it.

I picked up a couple steals on ebay.

290482725510 - Only payed 10X Face if you count the bills at face =)
300475902962 - 12.25x Face with some extra Indian Heads and a Buffalo

Junk silver is going for a premium on ebay now and tough to get a deal.

Your second deal sounds good at first impression, but don't let the seller's hook you with shipping charges like that. There's no reason that amount shouldn't have shipped in a padded envelope for $3.

The other deal WAS a great snag! Minimum of $19.40 of value for only $13 total (bid with s/h). Nice job Image

The second auction, it showed it listed at $12.58 UPS, but had a Priority option for $7.15. I took the cheapest option of course. Still over priced shipping for sure, but better than the $12.58. He won't be getting 5 stars for S&H charges thats for sure..

I don't think you should gig him on his shipping DSR. You should factor the shipping as part of your total bid.

He was just trying to job e-bay's fee system and he disclosed the shipping charge. ;)

Just a month or so ago I was having buyer's remorse for wasting 14.5x face on Barber halves. Now it doesn't seem like such a bad deal Image
