Ray, even the sentiment is so kind, it does my heart good. You know you always have an invite out here, no matter what. thats non perishable.....yeh, 45 times easy, you would think, huh?......might surprise us and trade to $500, i've NEVER seen a roll of 48 Franks in such condition, listen, i'd bid 51 in a SECOND, but i got the boys coming out here tommorrow and lift the cabin to put in a grown up peoples foundation, meaning 4 foot deep concrete and rebar "footers" all the wat around and THEN, finally some of the other boys are going to put in the rest of the plumbing, which means i can take a REAL shower and have a actual toilet, instead of the old outhouse. i bot this ranch from summertime weekenders, who ONLY put in this beautiful big cabin, yet set the sill on concrete blocks(!), didnt drill no well, no pump, no plumbing...so i had the well and pump done quick, realized the foundation was foolish long term, so i had to go to the CU, and then the concrete guy, etc etc, which halted the plumbing work.......my "shower" is a 200 foot long hose, warmed by the sun, combined with a nice aluminum basin filled with heated water...its all great for the summer, the winter, not so much..ahahha.

the guest cabin, i'm gonna leave like it is...its NICE, but i dont expect winter vistors, and if they DO come up. at least its got a really nice woodstove....they can come in the main cabin for grub, coffee, showers. all that work is costing the price of a monster box plus 3k, but you're a very kind man. much love, neil

Yes, this is a pretty cool auction. I haven't seen a full roll of early Franklinks like this on the ebay. I have assembled the same roll, but that took some time, even though I'm sure I paid less than $250 for all 20 coins. It will be interesting to see how that sells. You can find rolls like this at coin shows, but you rarely see them on ebay and they will carry hefty dealer premiums.

As a side note, has everybody had some success buying on ebay today? With 4.5MM homes out of eliectricity (and pre-occupied with other problems) from the hurricane, today has been the best day I've had in some time. Didn't get anything special, just snagged several small lots at 24-25X.

If you guys are getting all hot and bothered over this... I have at least six rolls of gem choice 1954-D, of which one of was slabbed and graded MS64. Of course, to talk me out of one you'd have to offer a pretty good > 43X buy or equivalent swap value. Mostly cuz I don't know where they are and they're incredibly difficult to extract from where I suspect I stashed them.

believe me, if i had the snaps, FRN's, i'd bid 44X for whatever you deigned to offer....but those 64 Ken's i got for 31, were the extent of my 4th quarter buying, but if i had an extra 2k Raymundo? i'd Buy however many 54's you wanted to sell...TODAY ....at 44X.

the "GEM BU" 64's? they were nice, but one or two maybe 63's, the rest, blast with readable dings....to me "GEM-BU" means flawless, but i'm not complaining at 31X's for a $10 face lot...i'm still waiting on a roll of 70-s Ken proofs, i know they're just 40's, but they only minted 2mln and 2 mln....n

Neil, If you're really into the BU coins, I would be more than happy to trade you 3 rolls of BU Franklins of several years, or 64 JFKs, for 4 rolls for AU level coins as along as they are consistent within the roll and weigh out at 249 g/roll or better. I'll have to re-check my stash, but I believe I've got several rolls of essentially flawless coins, though I say that with some reservation, without having looked at them in awhile. I'm sure they are at least MS60, probably at least 65 - not sure about 69 or 70. Some may have coin marks, minor blemishes, fingerprints, but I would have to see. Not sure they were always handled with supreme care so that's my main reservation. I also believe I may have some that are proofs as well. If you're interested I'll see what I've got - though it may take until Friday to get to it.

On a slightly different note, I did sort out my quarters to create a cull pile for trading out for smelting by weight. In the process I did find 3 1932 George's. They are very well worn, but if you want one - since I know you love that coin - I'd be happen to send you one. I save them out. I also found several mid-30s Washingtons are essentually AU or low BU coins. Surprised me. Not sure where they popped up from, in the midst of all the sorry worn-out coins, but they were there. I'm glad I spent the time to go coin by coin, roll by roll, and sort them out, though it was a literal pain in the neck (and the back).
