SVM is still above where I bought it, just days ago, despite the smackdown, which is why I do buy them when a good deal seems right.

I actually got stopped out of GDX today. Tried to play what looked like a breakout a couple weeks ago. Smacked down today. Good luck to all. Buy the physical stuff while you can.

This kind of market volatility, whether engineered or induced by panic selling and stops being triggered... is the precise reason I don't use stops. You know in your heart you made good picks on mining equities? Then show your conviction and marry them. Repeat your vows whenever you are in doubt "to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part." In the long run, you will profit beyond your wildest speculations if you stay the course. Of course, you might be much smarter than your competitors and able to market time to perfection... so if that's the case, then trade in and out of the market. :D
