Conditions affecting precious metal prices

Someone correct me if I am wrong but as I understand it, when the dollar weakens, pm prices rise. I think the latest drop in prices came about from the european decision to print more euros. Obviously printing more euros strengthens the dollar. To say that a weakening dollar causes a rise in pm prices is not totally correct. Rather, its the uncertainty associated with a weakening dollar that creates the pm increase. Anyone agree? Disagree?
