I had a buddy in HS that was trying to get me to go out for the football team. "Come on, man," he'd say, "Stop being a 'band F*G' and play a real man's sport." My reply went something like, "so let me get this straight...in the band, we have the best looking girls in the school. Lots of clothing gets changed on the busses to the games, co-ed busses, and when we stay over somewhere, pretty much co-ed rooms. On the other hand, the football team has beefy cheerleaders (who, I might add, take a separate bus). The team travels together, plays a sport involving rolling around on the ground together, then they go take a shower together. Gee, where do I sign?" He gave up trying after that
