The description states: ALL COINS ARE SILVER 1964

5 HALF DOLLARS = $56.26
13 QUARTERS = $73.16
16 DIMES = $36.02

Looking at coinflation for the values the melt siver value is $165.44

He is trying to sell for $232.00 plus $10.50 = $242.50

Not a good deal....

Ok, I'll say it. "Talk about throwing your money down the toilet." well, on the toilet at least...

If you like it it's a great deal.

Any comodity is worth what someone is willing to pay for it and what someone is willing to sell it for.

I for one know that I couldn't cast a bunch of old coins into a toity seat, nor would I want to, nor would I want one, nor would I want to sit on someone else's, nor would I dream of casting such a thing, nor would I know what to say to someone who had it, etc. etc.

I doubt it's worth that much.

Its an eccentric idea to be sure. Now if they only made coins of Obama, Bernake, et al ... now that would be a seat I could sit on!!

I wonder how many of these are sitting in landfills around the country?

My brother pulled a plastic bank clock out of the trash that had 1964 silver coins at all of the number positions, 4 dimes, 4 quarters, and 4 halves. :D Funniest thing was it stated in big bold letters "Last Year of US Silver Minted Coins" right across the top. I pulled the coins out last year after the clock finally died (when my brother found it all it needed was a new battery).

I bought a clock like that at a Flee Market about a year ago, still running today.

Theres a coin dealer here in NC that displays one at all the shows. Its great advertising, even if you forget his name or face, you always remember that toilet seat. His is a seat and lid.
