I emailed Mike Diamond past President of Coneca http://conecaonline.org/ and asked him if it was real and--
Hi Joe.

It's a real error. Both faces were struck through "grease" (die fill). It's not a particularly valuable error (maybe $10), but it's still nice to stumble across one while roll-searching.

Cheers,

Mike

Way to go!
I did it. I've been crazy enough to sort through 10,000 rolls of pennies. Almost makes you think, "some people will do anything to build up a coin collection."

Can you read the date? Looks like maybe 1977? If it is recognizable as a 1974 or 1978 I would be interested. PM and we'll talk.

Here is one I found recently that's very similar but mine is a zinc and has no date visible at all.

Joe, Franklin sure has one, or two, over on me. I screwed up and threw a couple of those errors back into
the zincs about 2 years ago.

Good find!
